THE HEALING PATTERN OF GROOVETONIC:
ReplyDeleteby Gay Rathman on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 10:06am
1. Sink into your feet and connect w/the earth.
2. Bring the energy up into your belly and let it move you.
3. Express yourself from the solar plexis outward.
4. Release and let go from the core/heart. Down and out through the feet.
5. Open up your heart, your throat, your third eye.
6. Connect upwards through your crown chakra up into the universe and let the music and light pour into your body.
7. Bring it all back down into your center.
I stumbled upon your blog while looking into expressive dance communities in Sante Fe and I just want to say wow :) I'm a dancer in Houston and it's just so exciting/inspiring to see such a similar philosophy of dance expressed! I love the steps in the pattern above and your descriptions of the healing/nourishing aspects of dance. I don't know if you've ever heard of Dancemeditation™, but I think you'd really like it. There is actually a Dancemed retreat happening in the Sante Fe area June 16-29. Here's the link the website if you're interested. http://dancemeditation.org/retreats
